Burwell B.7 Quimby (Jonas6, Isaacd5, Eleazer4, John3, Robert2), born 1780 Wayne, North Carolina, died between 1838 and 1850 in Henry county, Tennesse or Green county Alabama. Married August 9th, 1806 at Davidson, Tennessee to Susannah RAINS, dau of John and Christiana (Gowen) RAINS. He served in the West Tennessee Militia during the year 1814, in January he served under Steele's 4th Regiment and in November he served under Metcalfe's 1st Regiment. He is living 1820 in Lawrence county, TN, and by 1823 he is in Henry county, then found in 1830 living in Davidson county. Family oral history notes that he spent much time away from his family and even reportedly had 'other families' at the same time, which must be noted since his children are numerous and family submissions often do not agree. I suspect all are his children, but suggest they do not all belong to Susannah, note the color codes to help define which family file each are found. He left Davidson county and his family by Susannah in September of 1838. Susannah eventually divorced Burwell in 1838. (See Court Records)

Living 1850 in Haywood county, TN, and in Davidson county by 1860, on to Marshall county by 1870 and in 1880 Weakley, Tennessee with sons Robert and James. He died in 1882 of consumption in Davidson county, Tennessee.

He married Unium McLAUGHLIN, daughter of George & Nancy McLAUGHLIN  in 1848, in Shelby county, TN and he died October of 1851 in Haywood county, TN, his will was probated October 6th, 1851.

Hance8 Raines Quimby (Burwell B.7, Jonas6, Isaacd5, Eleazer4, John3, Robert2), born 1828 in Lawrence county, TN. . Married first Mary Ann PRITCHARD, and secondly **Mary Delilah EDWARDS Removed to Texas around 1858. Hance was indicted in 1858 in Haywood county, Tennessee, and is also involved in court proceedings in November of 1858 in Bradley county, Arkansas. In 1859 he is named in Circuit court proceedins in Haywood county, TN. In 1861 he served in Co. D., 10th Texas Infantry from Hempstead, Texas and he died in Texas in 1882.
