Jonathan6
Jonathan6 (James5, Jonathan4, John3, Robert2)
181. Jonathan6 Quimby (James5,
Jonathan4, John3, Robert2), born 1761/2. He served in the Revolutionary
War, and may be the Jonathan Quimby, who enlisted from Wakefield April
9th, 1777 in Captain James Carr's Company at age 19 along with Paul SAMBOURN - see
War file extraction following.. The 1810 census Jonathan is enumerated
in Wakefield with sons, except for Eliphalet who is living alone.
Although he does not die until 1823, I do not see him enumerated on the
1820 census. From birth and death certificates we find the following
details; his eldest son (Daniel) names his mother as Dorothy MORDOUGH,
and notes his father was born in Brentwood or Wakefield and his mother
was born in Exeter. It appears from census entries that he was later
married to Jerusha unknown, she born in Greenland.
See census entries following.
