Josiah/Jonah McIntire
preserving the historical facts
Birth: About 1785
Death: Before 06 OCT 1817
in Cleveland County, North Carolina
(No record has been located showing
cause of death, however we may safely assumed that Josiah was executed, by
hanging, after having been found guilty of the murder of Larkin
DYCUS).
(Note: oral
family history cites the seeds of this event were rooted in the belief of
'improper interactions' between Jemima and an 'unnamed gentleman' during
Josiah's absences from home, the interactions reportedly discovered by Josiah
himself upon his unpredicted return home. The accuracy of this account remains
unknown, but has been the only reported account found thus far.)
