Asahel H.8 Quimby (Asahel7, Harper6, Asahel5, Robert4, John3, Robert2), born 1835/6, married Emily C. MEAD, daughter of John L. Mead of Hill.  Enumerated in 1860 at Hill, Grafton county, New Hampshire. During the Civil War, he served in the 8th New Hampshire Reg. Infantry, Company D., as well is in the Cavalry, with residence listed in Vermont for the later. The 1870 Census again shows him living at Hill, Merrimack county, New Hampshire, and still there in 1880. His mother is living with them in 1880, listed as Sarah SHAW, aged 76.
