John Marshall9 Quimby (Tristram8, Eliphalet7 Eliphalet6, Tristram5, Jeremiah4, John3, Robert2), born April 27, 1840 at St. Albans, Vermont, died April 19, 1900, Montesano, Grays Harbor, Washington; married Susan Jane HILL, daughter of William and Laura (Nutt) HILL. John M. Quimby and Susan headed west by oxcart and settled first in Tehama county, California, then later moving up the coast to Oregon and lastly to Washington. In 1880 they are enumerated in Eugene, Lane county, Oregon, by 1885 they are in Grays Harbor, Washington, according to the census notes, he was an engineer, as was his son Charles.

William10 Quimby (John Marshall9,Tristram8, Eliphalet7 Eliphalet6, Tristram5, Jeremiah4, John3, Robert2), born 1864 in California, and he remained in the state, never removing to Washingston state, although he visited there in 1900, probably due to the death of his father, as he is enumerated on the 1900 census in Chehalis, WA with his brother Giles, and he and his family are enumerated the same year in Hoopa Valley, Humboldt county, CA where his family is residing. William married Agnes unknown and both are listed as Indian on the census in 1900, but listed white in all following census notes. In 1900 he has a half sister, Fanny, aged 48 and born in CA living with him. By 1910 he is living in Dayton, Butte county, CA, so are his brothers, Giles and Herbert and by 1920 he is in Durham, Butte county, CA.
